A Fallback Font is a secondary font used as a backup if your brand typography doesn't support special characters for different languages. In this guide, we'll show you how to set up fallback fonts when working with multi-language variations.
How to Set Up a Fallback Font
If you have special characters that aren't supported in a specific language, you'll see a notification in the preview header. Follow these steps to set up a fallback font:
- Click on the Aa icon.
- Select Set fallback fonts.
- A pop-up window will open, showing the exact languages that require fallback fonts. (Note: You can also access this window by going to the left sidebar, selecting Brand, and navigating to the Fonts tab.)
- Assign the necessary fallback fonts. (Note: If you select a font that still doesn't support special characters, we will prompt you to choose another fallback font.)
- Once done, click Confirm.
- Return to the preview header and cycle through the variations to ensure everything looks correct.
Important Note: Every fallback font set is saved to the brand kit assigned to the design you're currently working on.
