This article will guide you through using data feeds to generate hundreds of ad variations in Ad Studio.
To get started, we recommend exploring our sample feeds, which are available in the Feed section of the left sidebar. These samples offer a practical demonstration of the ideal content structure.
Adding Your Feed Content in The Brief
- From the left sidebar, click Feed.
- Select Create feed.
- Click Import content.
- A pop-up window will appear, offering two options to load your feed source:
- Upload file: Upload a CSV file from your local storage. (Max 2MB)
- Sync from URL: Input the URL of your CSV. (Max 5MB)
- Adjust the Feed settings:
- Sync Feed content: Set how often your feed content will be updated.
- List separator type: Choose the separator used in your file.
- Target ID: If you've set up target IDs in your file, select the corresponding column. Otherwise, use the Row index option. (IDs should be less than 100 characters.)
- Click Import content.
- A preview of your feed content will appear, where you can:
- Rename your feed.
- View its contents.
- Adjust feed settings.
- Clicking Apply feed will open a Quick connect window. Here, you can:
- Bind your feed content directly to your design.
- Choose to bind manually later from the Properties bar (covered in the next section).
Binding Layer Properties to Feed Variables
How to Bind a Property to a Variable
- Select the layer in your design.
- Go to the Properties bar.
- Click the Diamond icon to link a layer property to a variable from your feed.
Connectable Properties
The available properties for binding vary by layer type. Below is a list of connectable properties, including the main default and secondary options:

*Position and Size properties are only available when working with a single size or in focus mode.
Important Notes:
- For text layers, you can bind up to three tags to the content property. Each tag can be individually selected and formatted for more dynamic variations.
- Text height formatting includes Auto height and Fixed height. Fixed height allows you to customize overflow behavior with Ellipsis or Shrink text options.
- Crop settings are unavailable for image layers linked to your feed. For best performance, images should be under 5MB. For Ad Serving, images should be under 500KB for faster loading.
Making Changes to Your Feed
Double-clicking a bound layer or selecting "Open feed panel" from Feed settings will open a panel where you can adjust your feed's contents.Previewing Your Ad Variations
Once your feed content is connected to your design, you can preview the ad variations from the top right side of the stage.
Exporting Your Ad Variations
Exporting ad variations uses the export credits allocated to your subscription plan.
- From the top right of the screen, click Download.
- Select your desired format.
- Regardless of the format chosen, you will find a dropdown menu under "Feed Rows" where you can select to export:
- All rows.
- Current Row.
- Specific Rows (e.g., if your feed has 6 rows, you can choose to export all rows except the 2nd one).
- For HTML5 exports, you can use the ClickTag option to bind the URL from your feed.
- Click Download.
š§ Important: You cannot delete a feed that is linked to one or more designs.
