This article explains how to create and deliver different ad variations using a single design by adjusting the Ad Tag. We'll walk through a scenario using The Brief's Feed and Ad Serving features, along with Google Sheets.
Set up and Adjust the Ad Tag Code
- Enable Ad Serving: First, ensure that Ad Serving is enabled for your The Brief account.
- Obtain the Ad Tag Code: You have two options to get your design's Ad Tag code:
- Download as XLS: A spreadsheet containing the Ad Tag will be downloaded to your computer, from which you can copy the code.
- Copy code: Directly copy the Ad Tag code from The Brief.
- Adjust the Macro Code: Before uploading the Ad Tag to your ad network, you need to modify the macro code. In the "targetID" column, replace {TARGET_ID} with a specific value from the "Product ID" column of your CSV file.
- Example: If your CSV's "Product ID" column has a value of "3" representing an "Organic Cotton T-shirt," you would replace {TARGET_ID} with "3."
- Upload to Ad Network: Copy the adjusted Ad Tag code and paste it into your chosen Ad Network as a 3rd party tag.
Note: You can use any spreadsheet software to input your data. Additionally, you can source your data from a CSV file using various platforms.
