If you’re having trouble logging in or registering to The Brief, this guide will help you fix the most common problems, from password resets to SSO or social login issues.
1. Check your credentials
Before trying anything else:
Make sure you’re using the correct email address associated with your account.
Check that your password is entered correctly (passwords are case-sensitive).
Remove any extra spaces before or after your credentials.
🔑 Forgot your password?
Click “Forgot Password?” on the log in page.
Enter your registered email.
Check your inbox for the reset link (and your spam or junk folder if you don’t see it).
Follow the link to set a new password and sign in again.
If you don’t receive the reset email after 5 minutes, try checking your email settings.
2. Verify you’re on the correct Sign in page
You should always log in using the main application link:
If you were given an Enterprise SSO link or a custom domain, use http://auth.thebrief.ai/ instead. Trying to log in through the general website might not work for SSO users.
You can also reconfigure your SSO credentials with help from your IT team by following the these instructions:
3. Clear your browser cache and cookies
Login issues often occur due to cached data or cookies.
To fix this:
Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
Close and reopen the browser.
Try logging in again.
Or, test in a private/incognito window or another browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
4. Disable browser extensions
Some extensions like ad blockers, script blockers, or password managers, can block sign in or registration forms.
Try this:
Disable extensions temporarily.
Refresh the page.
Attempt to log in again.
If it works after disabling extensions, re-enable them one by one to find the cause.
5. Check your internet connection or VPN
If your network connection is unstable or filtered, login requests may not go through.
Try:
Switching to another network (e.g., Wi-Fi → mobile hotspot).
Turning off your VPN temporarily.
Restarting your router.
6. Troubleshooting social login (Google or Facebook)
If you registered or signed in using Google, or Facebook, follow these steps:
✅ Make sure:
You click the same provider button you used when registering (e.g., if you used Google, keep using Google).
You’re signed into the correct Google or Facebook account in your browser.
Your browser allows third-party cookies (required by some login providers).
⚠️ If you get an “Account Not Found” error:
You may have previously created your account using email and password instead of a social login. Try logging in manually or using “Forgot Password?” with your email address.
7. Troubleshooting Enterprise SSO login
If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO) (e.g., via Okta, Microsoft Azure, Ping Identity, or Auth0):
Common issues and solutions:
Error: “Invalid login or unauthorized domain”
→ Make sure you’re using your company’s specific SSO login link, orhttp://auth.thebrief.ai/You get redirected back to the login page
→ Clear cookies and cache or try a private browser window.
→ Confirm you’re logged into your corporate account in your browser session. You don’t see the SSO option
→ Contact your administrator or our support team. Your company’s SSO integration may not be active yet.
8. Check your email settings
If you’re registering or resetting your password and didn’t receive an email:
Check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folders.
Add hello@thebrief.ai to your safe sender list.
Try sending the email again.
9. Account already exists or duplicate email
If you see an error that your email is already registered:
Try logging in instead of signing up again.
If you don’t remember your password, use “Forgot Password?”.
If you used social login, log in via the same provider (Google, or Facebook).
