To format text in Ad Studio:
- Add a text element via the sidebar

Use the Properties Bar to adjust:
- Font, size, color, opacity
- Line height, letter spacing
- Masks, shadows, and effects
- For advanced needs, toggle Text Subselection to format individual words or characters
- Use Text Layers to manage stacking order and visibility
Now that you're ready to add text to your creative(s), we're here to guide you. Whether you're adding a heading, subheading, or body text or prefer to use one of our text templates, this article will help you get started.
Adding Text Elements
- To add text to your design, navigate to the left sidebar.
- On the left sidebar, go to Insert and click on Text. Here, you can choose the type of text field you wish to use: Heading, Subheading, or Body text¹.
- Alternatively, you can select one of our pre-designed text templates for quick and easy additions.
Formatting Your Text
Once you've added a text element to your design, you can format it according to your needs. To do so, head over to the Properties bar to make the necessary adjustments, such as:
- Change Text Copy - To edit the text content, click on the text in your design and make the desired changes.
- Text Color - Click on the color swatch in the Properties bar to choose the text color that suits your design.
- Font Selection - You can change the font style by clicking the font dropdown and choosing from the available options.
- And More - Explore other formatting options such as text size, alignment, and line spacing to achieve the perfect look for your creative.

In the Text section, you can adjust your text, including its content, apply brand typography styles, and adjust the font weight, size, and alignment.

Brand Typography
Here are the text styles for the Heading, Subheading, and Body retrieved from the brand kit assigned to your design.
Change Font Settings
Here's the breakdown of what you can find when it comes to adjusting your font.
- Font dropdown. Use the dropdown to choose a different font¹.
- Upload font. If you're working with your own fonts, you can upload them.
- Font weight. Use the dropdown to choose a different weight for your font.
- Font size. Adjust the size of your font, use the or dials to adjust it, or type² the value of your desired font size in the box.
- Letter spacing. Adjust the spacing between letters.
- Line height. Adjust the height between text lines.
- Alignment. Choose the text vertical alignment ( Left, Center, Right, Justify).
Type Settings
You can find additional text properties by clicking on the three dots in the bottom right corner of the Text section.
- Rich text. Bold or Italic.
- Decoration. Underline or Strikethrough.
- Case. Lowercase, Title case, Uppercase.
- List style. Bullet or Numbered list.
- Baseline. Superscript or Subscript.
- Vertical alignment. Top, Middle, Bottom.
- Link. Add links in your ad copy.
Text Box Resizing
On the bottom of the Type settings card, you can find more options related to the text box behavior, specifically its resizing behavior.
- Auto height. Adjust the height of the text box automatically based on the length of the text content.

Fixed height. Adjust the overflow behavior of your text with the following options:
- Shrink text. Automatically adjust the text size to fit the bounds of the text box.
- Ellipsis. Truncate the text size to fit the bounds of the text box boundaries with an ellipsis.
- Autoscroll. Automatically scrolls the text within a defined area. You can further adjust the Scroll speed, and Autoscroll starts delay³.
Fill
You can change the color of the text, use the color picker, or retrieve the color palette from the brand kit assigned to your design(s). Alternatively, you can choose to remove the text fill entirely.
Effects
You have the option to add effects to your text layers, including blur, drop shadow, and outlines.
- Blur. Create various visual effects and convey specific messages or moods within your design.
- Drop shadow. This enhances the visual appeal and readability of the text while also contributing to the overall aesthetics of your creative.
- Outline. Enhance the visibility, impact, and aesthetic appeal of text elements within ads.
Note¹: If your text contains special characters (e.g., å, ę, ε) that aren't supported by your font, you will notice a warning label on the properties bar. In this situation, we recommend using a different font or removing the unsupported characters.
Note²: You can only type the font size value when working on a single design or when you're in focus mode while working on a set.
