Text Tracking Animation
Text tracking is an effect that consists of the dynamic adjustments of the spacing between characters in a text. It has two options: expand and contract, which dynamically adjust the spacing between characters to either increase or decrease the width of the text block in relation to a central focal point.
More specifically, this is what the options do:
- Expand. When this option is selected, the animation gradually increases the spacing between characters in the text. This causes the text to expand outward from its central focal point, effectively widening the text block. Visually, it creates a sense of spreading out or stretching the text.
- Contract. Conversely, when the contract option is chosen, the animation reduces the spacing between characters. As a result, the text gradually contracts towards its central focal point, narrowing the text block. This gives the impression of the text compressing or tightening around its center.
Please note that the Text Tracking effect works best on single lines of text and when using Expand, be aware of the font size & letter spacing properties of the text. Too much letter spacing can cause the text to flip.
Shadow Pop Animation
An excellent technique to give your designs a dynamic vibe is to animate certain elements. Text animation can aid in grabbing the audience's attention and enhancing their capacity to remember the content.
It's important to keep in mind that increasing Alpha to 100 - any layer, any animation type - will always make the element visible, even if the element animates later in the design.
The Shadow Pop animation can't be used with bullet points or strikethrough, and only works as a Build-in animation
Ken Burns Animation
The Ken Burns effect adds an animated transition to a digital image to give the appearance of movement.
This animation does not work in AMP due to technical limitations. Additionally, if you download the creative as a GIF or MP4 format, the final weight of the file is significantly impacted by the animation type and the animation duration set on the design.
The Ken Burns animation can be applied only on stand-alone Image elements, as it does not apply to images in a Mask or a Shape. This can only be used as a Build-in animation
How to apply them
- Add a text or image layer to your creative.
- Select the text layer and open the Timeline.
- Click where you'd like to apply the animation:
- Click Play to see the animation in action.
