Working with main layouts significantly speeds up your workflow. The concept is straightforward: by creating a dedicated reference layout for each orientation (square, vertical, and horizontal), you can resize it on layouts of the same orientation with a single click. This guarantees results that require minimal, if any, adjustments
Main layouts
The grey dotted area at the top of the stage always displays the main layouts. These layouts are assigned based on how closely their aspect ratio matches the algorithm's ideal sizes for each orientation. The ideal size standard is chosen because it facilitates easy resizing across other sizes of the same orientation.
General layouts
The general layouts are listed underneath the corresponding main size for each orientation (square, vertical, and horizontal).
How to set a new Main?
If you wish to change the main size for a specific orientation, you can do so by following these steps:
- Find the desired size among the general sizes.
- Click the dropdown menu underneath the size and select "Set as main”.
Copying designs across Main Sizes
Ad Studio makes it easy to streamline your creative workflow by using a main layout as the foundation for your entire design set. Whether you're copying full designs or just transferring styles and animations, starting with a well-structured main layout ensures consistency across all formats. On the left sidebar, you'll find all the necessary resources for creating or enhancing your design, including elements, slides and animations.
When satisfied with the result, it's time to push the design to the other main layouts.
To copy elements and properties to other main layouts:
- Click the Arrow next to the leftmost main size.
- Select what you want to copy to the rest of the main layouts:
- Elements and properties: This option copies the entire design from one layout to another, ensuring consistency across your project.
- Only style: Copies only the style to other layouts without affecting the position of elements. This is ideal when you already have a design on all layouts and want to maintain the structure while updating the visual style.
- Only animation: Copies only the animation to other layouts without altering element positions. This is helpful for updating animations without impacting the overall layout, especially when you already have a design on all layouts.
Copy design to Secondary Sizes
Once your main layouts are complete, you have the option to either copy the entire design or selectively update only the style and animation across all other sizes within your design set (the general layouts).
Here's how to do it:
- Click the arrow located beneath the main layout's size.
Adding or removing sizes
Use the Sizes option in the left sidebar to easily add or remove sizes from your set. The sizes currently on the stage are selected by default when you open the tab.
