The Brief integrates seamlessly with Figma, allowing you to import entire design files and their assets directly into your creative workspace. This integration eliminates the need to rebuild designs manually and keeps your creative assets consistent across platforms.
This integration is available for all customers of The Brief, and it can be set up by a Team Owner or Admin of the account.
Features & Capabilities
The Figma import allows for the direct transfer of complete design files, including all layers and components, enabling you to work with entire projects instead of just flattened images. This integration also supports the import and reuse of Figma templates within The Brief, maintaining crucial metadata such as component names and layer groupings to simplify the editing process.

Technical Constraints
When importing Figma files, be aware of potential limitations. Large or complex projects may have extended import times or exceed file size limits. Advanced Figma features or plugins might not be fully compatible and could be converted differently. Any missing assets, such as unavailable fonts or plugin-generated elements, will be flagged or replaced with default options, which you can then address after the import is complete.
- Frame properties are removed; frames become groups.
-
No support for auto layout and constraints.
- The layers are imported and their position is preserved, but the positioning logic is not available on resize in The Brief.
- Components are not synced.
- Instances are detached and imported as child elements.
- Limited support for blend modes, strokes, effects, gradients, and corner radius.
-
File size limitations:
- 50 MB per each image in file
- 50 MB / Figma JSON
